Hello, I'm Adam. I am the Chief Product Officer for Amutri, and welcome to Beyond Dimensions. So what is Beyond Dimensions?Well, it's a podcast series that explores the rapidly evolving world of 3D visualization, which is also known as applied visualization or advanced visualization.

3d visualization has come on a long way in the last decade. It's no longer the preserve of specialist studios. It's now accessible by almost any industry. And as a result, we're seeing it used in a lot of very novel and very interesting ways to evolve the way that industry works. Whether you are a car designer that wants to rapidly design in a virtual space, co-create and understand the form factors, the material choices, how the interfaces are going to work, to large architects that want to collaborate across the world on producing the latest amazing structures, or you're developing a large infrastructure project and you need to engage tremendous amount of stakeholders, or indeed, just a workforce which is spread across the globe so they can collaborate and make sure this thing can come to life and achieve reality, let's say, seamlessly.

In the course of the podcast, I'm going to be talking to a whole host of people, from the hardware providers, so people like Apple with the Reality Pro or Sony that just collaborated with Siemens on their new headset, to understand what their vision is for how these things are going to be used outside of the home or the classroom and in an industrial setting.

I'm also going to be talking to the software providers, so the likes of Epic Games, who have seen their Unreal Engine, evolved from being used to battle opponents in Fortnite to being used by Neon to express and show off their vision for what the future is going to look like.

I'm also going to be speaking to people that use it on a daily basis. Companies that are using it to project BIM files on a construction site to understand what is being built and how it should be built to check that it's being built correctly, to companies that are using it to simulate entire structures or entire constructions to work out, knock the edges off any problems, using things like Process Simulate, which is an incredible piece of software that allows you to design an entire production line and run it and test it way before you need to commit to breaking ground.

I'll also be speaking to companies that are using it just to sell, whether that is selling products that might be very difficult to actually get into a meeting or that really need to be seen to be believed, but you're on the other side of the world.

3d visualization has evolved. It used to be that you need to go to a studio, or especially studio to have your dreams or ambitions realized, and that was an expensive thing to do. That's no longer the case. You don't need any specialty skills. There are software out there, like Immutri, for instance, that can rapidly, almost immediately turn your CAD files into beautifully rendered experiences, which can be used throughout your workflow, whether that is the front-end, using it as a sales tool, using it to engage stakeholders, whether it's directly in design, so helping you understand the human factors of the thing that you're creating, to find out if people can actually fit in. Can you get components out? Can you get components in? Can you build this thing? To digital twins, so simulate the entire construction before it's even built, to understand how you're going to build it, how you're going to maintain it. To the actual build, so overlaying BIM files in an either augmented way or a virtual reality way to enhance digital twin so you can use it to see what the progress is of the build, or indeed look at it from a snagging point of view, to then looking at how you support it and how you run the building throughout its life.

There are so many opportunities with 3D visualization to enhance almost every stage of the workflow, especially on large infrastructure builds. So this is what Beyond Dimensions is going to do. I'm going to speak to a whole range of people. It's also going to be fun because there's a lot of very interesting and very exciting things that are going on in 3D visualization now.

But I'm also going to speak to people who have got an idea of what it's going to be like in the future, how 3D visualization is going to not only evolve, but disrupt the way that engineering, large infrastructure projects, architecture, building, construction is going to be done. Because believe you me, by 2030, The way that we conceive, design, and deliver projects is going to be unlike anything we've seen before.
